| DIAMOND LAKE VINTAGE LOG CABIN |
|
|
| Original log cabins are special because of the legacy they carry of our past and culture. Important historical remnants, their presence enriches the landscape. Master craftsmanship went into building this scribed log cabin set on a stone foundation overlooking beautiful frontage on Diamond Lake in Cable, WI.
Our cabin on Diamond Lake is so charming with its hand-built features including cupboards, counters and stone fireplace and its lakeside enclosed porch, wood floors and original fixtures that you will be dreaming about gathering the family at the lake every summer to swim, fish, sail & hike. The 1,008 sq. ft. of living space is divided among 2 bedrooms on the main level, a 16 x 13 sleeping loft with outside access, a kitchen with original, working appliances, a full bath with tub and shower, a living room with a stone fireplace, dining area and lake views and a 16 x 9 enclosed porch that opens to a lakeside deck. In excellent condition – this 1940’s log cabin is a must-see.
Diamond Lake lives up to its name as the gem of this area. It is 341 acres and 83 ft. deep and is exceptionally clear and clean. Diamond Lake is a drainage lake with stream inlets and outlets that help maintain its water level year after year.
The cabin is outstanding and so is the land. Older cabins (this one was built in 1944) tend to have incredible settings because the first owners had first choice building sites. That is the case here. The cabin is perched on a west-facing ridge. The 303 ft. of frontage has a hard, sand bottom. There are 3.08 acres lakeside—with hemlocks & ravines and another 4 acres across the road with a wonderful hemlock grove. The 4 acres is contiguous with National Forest!
Isolated from the neighbors, bathed in filtered sunshine, this cabin, nestled in the forest, promotes solitude. If you like peaceful settings, have vintage tastes and are interested in preservation of the past – call us to tour this cabin soon.
