Our little blue cabin on Picture Lake is a great place to relax. After bike, after ski – come home to this comfy 2008 two bedroom cabin. The simple, open layout includes a 17 x 13 living/dining area combined with a 12 x 13 kitchen and breakfast bar – all with lake views. There’s two 10 x 10 bedrooms and a 10 x 8 bath with shower off the living area. The bath has sport stack washer and dryer hook-ups– a nice space saving feature. This easy-to-care-for cabin is meant for kicking back after a day of outdoor activity.
The cabin is pretty cute – an interior of pine and pine accents, colorful walls and a vaulted ceiling. There’s a deck on the lakeside and deck doors to the kitchen/dining area – handy and dandy for grilling and entertaining. The 1-acre lot slopes gently down to 125 feet of frontage and is defined by mature hardwoods and tall, spreading white pines.
Picture Lake is Class 3, the most sensitive lake category in Bayfield County. The lake has struggled to maintain its depth in these drought years of northwestern Wisconsin, but there is plenty of water in front of our cabin. Picture is not a water-skier’s lake. It is very clear and is fun for canoeing and kayaking because you can see panfish and turtles in its depths – just like looking into an aquarium.
The Blue Moon neighborhood is home to nature lovers, silent sports fans and artists. Only 3.5 miles from town, this cabin is in a quiet, private area with easy access to groceries, gas, banks, hardware, library, post office, museums and cafes. The Birkie Trail head at the North End Ski Club is a 7-minute drive, and the CAMBA trailhead is right in Cable.
If you love to train in the north woods … if you love to be outdoors … then this cabin is all you really need and at such a great price!
